The travel industry is filled with fierce competition, large branded booking engines, large travel meta search websites, and other travel agencies. The most important thing to surviving is how you view your agency, and as an extension how your prospects view your agency. If you give the impression that all you do is book travel, you have an uphill battle, as there are LOTS of other options to do that. However, if you position yourself as an expert, how many other experts are there? Orbiz, Expedia, Kayak, they’re not experts. Suddenly you have very little competition.
