Low Commissions & Selling Higher Priced Cruises

June 26 by Sling & Stone

Larry Norman from Travel Research Online talks about what he gained from attending a webinar put on by Norwegian Cruise Line where they discussed including the cost of unlimited drinks into the price of the cruise. This will give cruisers a better experience, but at the same time raise the price of the cruise.

Selling a higher priced cruise may be a challenge for some agents, but Larry states that this is the time to become true agents and sell the value and enjoyment of cruising. Spending your time to market to low-cost cruisers will only keep you booking low-cost cruises. Those that are looking for a great deal will always be looking for the next great deal.

The good thing, as Larry points out, is that by NCL raising the prices of their cruises, this means agents will be getting a bump in commissions to the tune of $54 – $72 per cabin for a 3 and 4-day cruise respectively, based on a 15% commission.
