Shazam, the mobile app that listens to audio and returns information about the song, is venturing into visual recognition to do the same thing it does for music. Users would point their camera at an image and Shazam would redirect them to a custom website with more information and offers. Similar to the QR code sparsely used in marketing today. The difference being that Shazam has over 100 million active users.
